Zombeavers

For tonight's horror film I watched the masterpiece of modern cinema Zombeavers. It was about as good as you'd imagine. I don't know what the point in explaining the plot is as essentially it's just about, ya know, beavers. That are zombies. Or zombies that are beavers? I dunno. Whatever.

Zombeavers is a creature that follows the structure of pretty much every creature feature: scantily clad college girls go to cabin in the woods, have "relations," start getting attacked and slowly killed by monsters, one eventually escapes. All that plus Bill Burr, randomly! Zombeavers injects just enough humor and ridiculousness to stay interesting, but not enough to be overtly notable. Really the most original thing Zombeavers accomplishes is changing up the "final female" formula by actually letting the more sexual girl survive (well, mostly) as typically the chaste, innocent female is the one that survives the ordeal. In a weirdly feminist way it's actually refreshing to see a female character who is not goody-two-shoes not get shamed, but ultimately it's simply just a welcome change to see the "final female" formula get a bit of a, albiet shallow, shakeup.

Then again here I am, trying to draw deep meaning from a movie named Zombeavers

7/10
