10/25: The Vatican Tapes

10/25: Tonight's film was The Vatican Tapes, a pretty run-of-the-mill Catholic lore-based possession film. Essentially the movie is about a young, attractive woman who starts to show signs of being possessed by the devil. Crows come flying through windows, people hang themselves, a dude shoves lightbulbs into his dead, etc. Welp, turns out she's the antichrist, she's bringing about the end times, and no one, let alone Michael Pena, can stop her. Oh, apparently all you need to be the antichrist is to be the child of a prostitute. The more you know!

Yeah, this movie doesn't really bring anything new to the possession genre; at the same time, it's not particularly bad either. It's just kinda there. The acting is pretty bad, the scares, exorcism, etc. are pretty predictable, but nothing's awful enough to hate this pretty average movie.
