He's Only Mostly Dead

 

Boy, this thing is dusty.

Well, hey there, friendos! Or the yawning void of no one reading this. Probably the latter. 

Yeah, this blog is dead... well, mostly dead. I spoke about its potential imminent demise last year and hey, wouldn't ya know it, I was right. Guys, writing blogs is hard. It takes a bunch of time and writing 31+ every October is a helluva thing. It sucks because I actually love doing it! But now I have a job where I write basically every day and there's just no time for this here wee blog. 

So what am I doing here writing a post saying I'm not writing posts anymore? Well, I'm happy to say that while this blog may only be slightly alive the Horror Binge itself, certainly the most important piece of this venture, is still alive and kicking. As I mentioned last year, Instagram is becoming my posting spot of choice. I can write shorter, simpler posts that don't end up making the binge feel like a slog by, like, week 3. 

And here's the thing: I dig watching horror movies every day of the month every single October. I've done it for 10(!) years now, so why keep doing something that is only enjoyable, tops, like 2/3s of the time? So I'm going to keep watching a bajillion horror movies and posting little mini-reviews over on the Insta because that's something I can enjoy nearly 100% of the time.

Plus, as this review is evidence, I'm longwinded AF and still haven't come to why I'm posting here. I plan on coming back here to post my summaries from each year so I can keep tracking my numbers. I'm all about them stats, and this seems like a good home to keep storing that info and being able to refer back to it as needed. We're looking at a single post-a-year type deal.

So while this blog is mostly dead, I hope it can remain as some sort of record of my descent into madness via horror movies; a shoddy memorial to my lame legacy, if you will.
